During my training in Matamata, New Zealand for my upcoming work in Manukau, people that needed physical healing were asked to come stand up in the group for prayer. Of course I was up there, who wouldn’t be for the possiblity to be healed.
My hip/butt/lower back had been injured for the past six years. The first year of my injury, I was limping and the past five years I have occasionally had sharp pains shoot down my right lower back to my thigh. When a group of my teammates were praying for me, our director said that there was someone in the room whose right hip and lower back was in pain. He prayed using the authority of Jesus to have the pinched nerve loosened. I had not told anyone about my condition. That someone (which was me) was the only one that was pointed out among the group of a 100+ of us.
Earlier that day, one of my leaders, Tara, told me earlier that God was telling her the word “Freedom” and that I just need to embrace it. As people were praying for me (still not knowing my condition), I felt tingles go down my spine and I felt heat penetrate inside me. It was as if my back was swallowing heat while at the same time there was a ripple effect of chills throughout my body. I was filled with joy because I experienced the healing power of the Holy Spirit, who is the living God.
I was healed by God. Or so I thought…
