A group of about 20
or so people were requesting for us to pray for them. It is their expectation
that we lay our hands on each one of them when we pray for them. One of our
partners/translators in that village, Raymond, requested that I pray for Victor
who said he was being troubled by the spirit of his dead brother who keeps
haunting him and for his desire to be freed from alcoholism. Hm. I thought that
his second request was interesting for some reason so I began to ask him if
he’s ever just asked God to forgive him and help him in his own prayers because
God forgives us every time we ask (1 John 1:9). He said no because although he
believed that God existed, he didn’t know who Jesus was. Raymond encouraged me
to share with him the message of Christ and he invited Jesus into his life. We
prayed together for his needs.

Little did I know
what I happened to Victor the night before. After we finished praying for all
the people, Victor said that he has a testimony to share. He told us that just
last night in a dream, it was either God or an angel dressed in white that
approached him to warn him about a snake that was coming. He immediately woke
up from his dream and there was a snake that was slithering to enter his home.
He climbed on top of the things in his mud hut and waiting for the snake to
leave his house. It was then he knew that God was real and so he came to the
meeting today where we were preaching in the villages and accepted Christ as
his Savior.
