Dear family and friends,
I am writing to fill you in on some exciting news. I have been accepted to go on a Christian mission trip that I have applied for. The mission is called the World Race and it is through Adventures In Missions. On the World Race I will travel to 11 countries in 11 months to help those in need and spread the love of Jesus.
I know this sounds drastic, and not at all like me, but I have prayed about it and thought it over for a few months. This is what God is calling me to do and I am ready to follow his lead. It is time for me to step out of my comfort zone and make a difference in the world. I have decided to give up on the “American Dream”, get rid of most of my possessions, and travel across 4 continents with only a backpack. This will be such a HUGE change for me, considering I don’t like to be dirty, but I know this experience will teach me more than I could ever learn if I continued my daily routine.
I am scheduled to leave at the beginning of September 2013 and I will travel to China, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, India, Nepal, Ukraine & Romania. On this journey my team and I will partner with churches and ministries in local communities to share the Gospel, work in orphanages, teach English, pray for the sick, minister to victims of human trafficking, construction/painting, and anything else their community may need help with.
I am so excited about traveling the world, experiencing new ways of life, seeing life from a new perspective and learning to be more grateful than I‘ve ever been. This will not be a luxury vacation, it will be a rough journey and a humbling experience. But I know I will meet so many wonderful people along the way, have the opportunity to love on those that need it most, give hope to the hopeless, and grow closer to God each day.
I am very grateful for this opportunity that God has given to me, and I have every confidence that He will provide for my needs. My prayer is that He will do that through your support. I am writing you to ask if you would partner with me prayerfully and financially in my mission. I would like to ask for prayers for strength to continue to do what God is calling me to do, courage to not back down, safety for myself and my squad on our journey, and for my financial needs to be met.
The financial support can be given as a one time gift OR a monthly donation. The trip itself is $15,500. This will cover training costs, travel abroad, my main meals and lodging for 11 months. (If 25 people pledge $50 a month for 12 months I will be fully funded.) All gifts, large and small, are greatly appreciated!!!
