Since the day I got here I felt it. I felt the darkness. Everyone in my team did. We were aware of Satan’s presence in Haiti. But after one or two conversations that’s as far as it went. We went on with our daily life. It was never spoken of again.
Then Tony came along. And he did just what we were all waiting for. He spoke to us about the truth of Haiti; the things we were shielded from experiencing. Today, I got the confirmation I needed.
It’s called the Invisible World. The world of voodoo and witchcraft. Before today I didn’t believe the reality of it. Today, I do.
Satan is powerful and disgusting. I’ve never hated anything more. He is sick. The things he does is so messed up.
Voodoo and witchcraft, it affects everyone here. Whether you practice it or not I’d go to say it controls most people in Haiti. If you’re not practicing it, you’re wondering whether you or your family will be cursed by someone else. Life is no guarantee. I imagine most children don’t even have the expectation of growing old.
People throw water down in entry ways before walking through because if the bone ash powder has been put down and you step over it you will die. A simple, “your baby is so beautiful” can be a curse that will kill your baby that night. If someone has the money and visits a voodoo doctor they can kill whoever they desire. You see so many people with massive scars on their face, neck, and shoulders because Satan acknowledges jealousy towards their beauty and their parents in turn scar them. Children are sacrificed here. Their parents are approached by Satan and are told to kill a child; it’s always the one they love the most.
People attend church because they fear Satan and they believe Satan cannot come into a church. But he has
come into churches. Tony witnessed it once. During service a woman levitated 8 feet in the air. Then it was as if a semi going 60 mph hit her and she crashed into the audience. Nonchalantly, the pastor took her up front prayed over her and a loud, vile shriek left her. She got up and walked out. This stuff is real.
You may be challenged reading this. Believe me I was too. But as much as God is real, satan is too. And Haiti is in a horrible place of spiritual warfare. Satan is controlling the lives of so many.
