Sisters,
Did you know that you are worthy to be pursued?
Because that’s what the Lord says.
You are worthy of a fully intentional pursuit of your heart, none of this wishy-washy flirtatious ambiguous crap.
We are told so often by society that we need to be desirable to be worth something. We need to look a certain way, dress a certain way, speak a certain way in order to affirm our femininity. To be desired is to be affirmed. To not be desired is to be alone, to be forgotten, to be worthless. What a bunch of lies.
A woman’s heart is gentle, it is tender. To embrace those things is not weakness, it is strength.
There is no fight to be known, the Lord knows you. There is no struggle to stand for yourself, the Lord protects you. There is no shame in how you look, the Lord created you.
Seriously, sisters, shame off of you! Condemnation off of you! Judgment off of you!
The Lord is the forerunner in pursuing your heart. And because He pursued you first, you are worthy to be pursued by an intentional man.
In my short time here on the Race, I have had the privilege of being on a team with two awesome men of God, Michael and Jacob. When they say yes, they mean yes; when they say no, they mean no. They lead by submitting, the Lord raises them up because they put themselves last. They are the kind of men who will jump barefoot into the street while it’s pouring rain to push your tuk-tuk up a 45 degree hill while they are ankle-deep in murky street water without any hesitation (thanks, by the way). Their hearts are always to honor the women on the team and really, everyone who crosses their path.

I don’t say this to turn this blog into an eHarmony ad (everyone on the Race is committed to remaining single from the time they get accepted to the end of the Race), but I’m trying to show that there are legitimately amazing men of God in this world who live to a higher standard. These men are for real and it is not unrealistic to know that one day someone like them will come along in intentional pursuit.

Recognize that the Lord has called us His valuable ones, His beloved ones. To settle for less is to cheapen what the Lord has called expensive. To entertain uncommitted flirtation is to seek affirmation from man instead of God. If it’s the season for friendship or the season for romantic relationship, be excellent and intentional in it. The Lord’s plan for you is good and it will prosper you.
You are worthy to be pursued.
