You've probably received a letter, an email, a Facebook message, a delivered speech or a combination of those from me by now, telling you about this 11 month missions trip to 11 countries, for which I need to raise $15,500.

So where exactly does that money go?

Allow me to present you with some facts and figures (with much help from my lovely squadmate, Brandi Wilcox)

$15,500 gets broken down like this:

Program Expenses – 82%
Direct and indirect costs such as training camp, my field expenses, and support field expenses.
Total: $12,710

Program Development – 10%
Funds reinvested into the general World Race fund to grow the program and our international relationships.
Total: $1,550

Admin Expenses – 8%
World Race overhead that covers all indirect expenses such as Accounting, IT, Human Resources, Donor Relations, Marketing and Developemnt departments.
Total: $1,240

26% of funds raised will to daily food, lodging, and transportation. That breaks down to an average budget of $12/day

For the year, my total budget is:

Food – $1,005
Lodging – $1,340
Transportation– $1,675

How many ways can you prepare rice and beans? I have a year to find out.

Who has a spare 7 hours? Let's take the bus into town!

The remaining funds break down as follows:

Intercontinental Travel (Starting/Stopping from the USA): $4,235
Training Camp, Field Support Staff, Debrief, Miscellaneous Field Supplies: $4,455

Items not covered in the $15,500: medical insurance, vaccinations and medicine, gear (backpack, tent, mosquito net, etc.), flights to and from Training camp, flights to and from US launch/receiving city, and any kind of personal 'adventuring'.

I hope this gives you a better idea of where your donations are going! I have truly been blessed and humbled by this fundraising process. I really struggled with fundraising initially because I didn't want to be dependent on others, and I was afraid of being vulnerable in the touchy area of finances. But God asked me, "How can you believe that I will save the lost, give hope to the hopeless, mend broken hearts, and perform signs and wonders…but not provide the finances to go?" He really convicted me of compartmentalizing Him–I was only allowing God to work in areas I wanted Him to! And so, I know the Lord provides and fully equips those He has called to be about His business.

With that being said, I once again ask for you to prayerfully consider partnering with me on this journey. I have already seen the good work of the Lord in just the week of Training Camp–I know this is just the beginning!

I currently have $6,100 raised in my support account, with a financial deadline of $6,500 this Friday, June 15. By September 1st (3 months in field) I must have raised $11,000, and by December 1st (6 months in field) I must be fully funded at $15,500.

I am willing to go. Are you willing to send me?
