Me in a Nutshell
Thank you so much for visiting my page! Oh man where do i begin? Well, my name is Christina Walker (I'm on the far right) and I'm from the frozen tundra aka Minnesota! I'm 23 years old and I'm the youngest of three siblings. I have an older sister and an older brother. I have two wonderful parents and big fluffy 70lb Australian Shepherd/Springer mix named Tobi. I'm currently working on getting my Associates in Arts. I'm involved in my church's youth ministry as a youth leader. I've been mentoring teens since I graduated highschool in 2005 and I love it! I really have a heart for young people. They are a challenge but they are so much fun and they say and do the most hilarious things!

I'm kind of a zany character I guess. Haha! I love to have fun and hang out with friends. I love road trips, a good movie (action, thriller, comedy, or Disney please, keep the romantic stuff), late night grocery store runs, walking around downtown, people watching, card games, sports, Halo, coffee shops, laughing, and pranks. I'm easily amused and often amuse myself when no one else is available/willing to. I'm an easy going chick but I am sanguine and loud sometimes. It surprises no one in my home when I belt out a Disney song or a tune from a musical. Believe it or not I do have just as strong a quiet side and I'm often quite serious (comes from my Dad I think). I really do enjoy listening to people and just being quiet and observing people. I tend to be slow to warm and I can be rather shy at first, but once you're in you're in if that makes any sense. I'm very very protective of my friends and family and not gonna lie at times that comes back to bite me. I'm just such a mama bear I can't help it! Myers Briggs pegs me as an ESTJ so go figure.
So how did i get in cahoots with a crazy venture like World Race you ask? Facebook! I was just cruising the website minding my own business when i saw the add on the side. I had a "hmmmm" moment and then thought nothing of it. But it kept coming back to me, "11 months 11 countries". I couldn't block it out of my mind! So I broke down and Googled it and I was just floored by what I found. I was amazed at how people just dropped everything to be the hands and feet of Jesus for such an extended period of time! I knew then and there that God wanted me to be a apart of this.
Now the real work begins! I'm so excited to work alongside brothers and sisters in the faith that not only see injustice but actually want to do something about it. I realize that this trip will be the hardest thing I've ever done, in fact i count on it being that. I want to be challenged and changed; I want more of God than what I have. Godspeed to all of us as we fundraise and prepare our hearts for this epic journey. More to come!
