A friend of mine, named Ashley, recently traveled with ELIC to Cambodia (with the ultimate destination being Vietnam). She will be serving in Vietnam for a year teaching English and showing her students and others God's love for them.

Before she left she had the ingenious idea of having each of her friends take a picture of themselves in a funny pose. She cut each person out and had them laminated. Since she left she has begun taking pictures of each of her friends experiencing life in Cambodia (so far) as their flat selves.
Why do I mention that, you may be asking yourselves?
Good question.
I have been praying about what to do for fundraising for a while and it has been a little difficult coming up with ideas because where a lot of fundraisers work is relying on the people around you knowing you and where I'm not really from Hawaii (or really anywhere I have ever lived) I don't know a lot of the people around me or how to fundraise with all of those people that I do know, or knew, being so stinking far away (you).
I think that I may have found a solution for my first fundraiser, though!
I want you to come with me on the World Race!
What does that look like?
What it will look like is you taking a picture of yourself looking funny, serious, or normal and sending it to me through e-mail. As of right now, I have one such picture already cut and laminated for World Race travel (the above mentioned friend). The pictures that I receive will be laminated so that they can survive the 11 month travel and all be placed on a key ring so that I don't lose them.
By being a part of this fundraiser you will, after sending me the image, let me know which one of my 11 countries you want to have your flat picture taken in.
How do I get in on this?
Because it is a fundraiser I have been asking people how much they thought that I should ask for being a part of this and most said about $20. I'm still not entirely sure and if you have any better suggestions feel free to send me a message about it. For now, though, I'm going to trust those I asked as wise counsel and say that the the donation for going on the World Race with me in flat form is $20.
How will you know if I'm supporting generally or as a part of this fundraiser?
Okay, so this part is super important, so that I know the difference between supporting me without wanting to participate in the Flat Friend Fundraiser and wanting to be a part of it I am going to need those that want to go with me to click on "Send Me a Note" (it is right below my picture on the left hand bar) and fill out the information to let me know that you want to do it. From there I can contact you directly about which country and get your picture.
If you don't let me know I will assume that you are supporting me without wanting to be a part of this fundraiser.
When does this fundraiser end?
I'm going to need to have time to print, cut and laminate everyone so the last day that I will take pictures is December 1st, 2013 (that's subject to change). That should give me enough time to get everyone ready (as well as myself!!)
