This month in Malaysia my team and I have been placed with Grace Assembly Church Association in Klang, a forty-five minute drive from the bustling capital of Kuala Lumpur. Our main ministry is with the Remah Kids Orphanages, three different Christian homes for neglected and abused children around the area of KL. We live in a house with thirteen young girls, ages ranging from five years to seventeen; many of them having lived over half their lives there. Although these orphanages are based on Christian values and are surrounded by staff who know of Jesus, I have been able to see and feel the desire from each one of these kids to be loved and to be accepted.

One of the main issues Remah Kids Orphanage have said they have come up against is a need of workers, having one Orphanage close and conglomerate into the other because there are simply no applicants to fill the needed positions. It breaks my heart to realize the pain and suffering each child has experienced in their life before Remahs Kids, most having gone through great physical and emotional abuse. I hear their stories and it becomes clear to me as why the Lord has sent me here, He has called me to love each one of them just as Jesus loves each one of us. Behind each one of their hurts and struggles is a big heart with the capacity to love so many others. Despite their mistreatment, they are teaching me how to love well.

Since the ministry week has begun we have spent most of our days hanging out with the kids and telling them more about Jesus. Each morning one of our World Race teammates brings the Word of God in the form of a devotional or Bible teaching, followed by song. Yesterday was my chance to lead and share with them the teachings the Lord has been showing me while on the Race. I spoke about the freedom of forgiveness, and the free choice God has given us all to forgive others and love others as Jesus does. It was liberating and immensely encouraging to share that revelation God had brought me through while on the Race; an area I once struggled so much in.

Moving forward in this week, we have a lot to do. This coming Sunday we are scheduled to help at a cultural event with an expected five thousand people to attend. We are finding creative ways to bless these kids and tell them that they matter. A talent show is in the works, along with a dance party, and we are already prepping Christmas decorations and presents for the twenty-fifth. Next Wednesday is our dress rehearsal and grand Christmas production. My World Race team and I are making masks and teaching our forty kids two songs to present. Who knows what’s next, it’s just crazy to be here in Malaysia surrounded by a bunch of loving kids we can bless with our Heavenly Father’s crazy love.

If you would like to help support me financially and keep me on the Race, I am still in need of approx. $3500 USD. Please make a donation by clicking the ‘Support Me’ tab on my Home page; I have 17 more days to be fully funded. Thank-you!
