Many of us on the squad talk on Facebook together. What follows is a list of responses to the question:

What are some signs that you signed up for the World Race?

·   You’ve instantly increased your FB friends by 50
·   You see a penny on the ground and you pick it up        -$15,499.99
·   Signed a short term lease, look at everything in the store and say do I need that on the race, look at things  as short term, and talk to crazy people who I plan on living with but never met 😉
·   When you check your world race account more often than your back account
·   You never buy clothes any more unless you know you would carry them on the race
·   You look at stuff around your house and make a list of what you can sell
·   I like REALLY need some professional clothes for student teaching next semester, but I don’t want to buy them because I’d never wear them on the race. My students will always remember me as the ‘special’ student teacher
·   When you think this time next year I’ll be in…! And you get excited!
·   When your friends who know you’re going to 11 different countries in 11 months tell their friends what you are doing and suddenly random people you haven’t met say o yeah you’re the girl my friend was telling me about
·   A movie is set to come out next November and you say “Aw, I am going to miss that one.”
·   Someone asks you to be in their wedding and you say yeah! But then remember that you will be in Rwanda
·   When you go through a weird situation (cold shower, have to sleep on the couch, something gets broken, supernatural experience, or you get tired of your roommate being around you all the time) and then you think “might as well get used to it now…”
·   I’m having the same problem! My students are going to just have to accept that I’ll be wearing the same outfits because there’s no way I’m buying more!
·   Going on the same line as the others but another sign is when you find a new way to arrange only outfits to make them look new.
·   I have the same problem too! I’m going to be with 5th graders! They are totally going to call me out!
·   When u download translator apps or decided to learn Bulgarian and Swahili
·   My 8th graders will just point and laugh 🙂
·   You know the address of every person you have ever met because you are sending them fundraising letters
·   Not taking NO for an answer
·   Have new friends all over the country

These made me smile and I wanted to share them with you. It gives you a glimpse into what goes on in our minds as we prepare for the world race.
