Hello Hello (:

It has been quite some time since my last blog post, and for that, I am sorry.

Romania was a unique experience. My squad of 38 successfully lived together under one roof and the ministry we were partnering with was marvellous.

My team and I were working alongside a lady from the church who coordinates an after school program, which we assisted with on a daily basis. We built relationships with the kids we were with and I thoroughly enjoyed the time there.

We had a “Thanksgiving” party with the after school club before we left, and the children were able to write on paper leaves all the things they were thankful for; it was crazy to see all the interesting things they wrote. Most of them were thankful for the people in their life (including some of us) and it was humbling to witness their thankfulness.

Check out the neat video my teammate made about the after school program below!

We were able to deliver milk to various families in the area, and we in turn, as a squad, were able to raise the funds for another year of milk deliveries! (Over 500 USD!).

Our team was able to help sort and deliver packages of clothes for families in the community, and also clear out a storage area of clothing, in order for it to be filled up with a new truck delivery of clothes before we left.

It has been amazing to see God working in the church in Romania, and ‘twas sad to say goodbye to all of our new found friends.

Yet we were also excited to move on to our next stop.

Albania!

Teams were divided a bit differently this month because all of the men on our squad are together for what is called “man-istry” month, and my previous team has been split for the time-being. So far, the 6 other girls on my team and I have been enjoying settling into Lezhe and helping out at the Lezhe Academic Centre. Here, we will be tutoring one on one with the students, helping the teachers in their classrooms, assisting in after school programs, and helping out with a local Mennonite church.

Stay tuned in the days to come for more updates on what God is doing here in Albania, and the specifics of the ministry.
