“It’s a good day to be alive” I’ve reminded myself this morning, as I have been experiencing the emotions of my last day in Canada.
It’s funny how this familiar feeling of leaving stills feels like it has every time I have had a last day in Canada; first at age 3, then Grade 2, later in Grade 5, Grade 8, and now Grade adult. It’s a strange bizarre experience, almost surreal.
I am so ready for this; I have extra deodorant, all the stylish articles of clothing I wanted to bring (minus the one sweater that didn’t make the packing cut), and I got the pack zipped up 🙂
I am so ready for this; I am looking forward to seeing how God uses this time away to grow me, and shape me more and more into the person he desires me to be. I am ready to “Go” and serve however he leads.
But choosing to go, and deciding to be away for this length of time isn’t the easiest of choices. Especially today, on my last day in Canada. When emotions are felt, and doubts are creeping in, I am reminded it is good to be alive. The reminder came to me from Jason Gray as his melodious voice wafted through the car radio as I drove home last night.
Have a listen to this lovely tune – Good to be Alive

His chorus hit the spot.
“I want to live like there’s no tomorrow, love like I’m on borrowed time…(wait for it, here’s the best part)….It’s good to be alive.”
As I head off to partake in the rest of my last day in Canada with the fam jam – I wanted to let you all know, and myself too – that today is a good day to be alive – because it’s really borrowed time, and God can use us in our daily grind, and he has a purpose for this journey he has called me on.
Fundraising Update – I am 90% Fundraised!! Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far! It has been amazing to see how the funds were provided, especially with the exchange rate being as unpleasant as it is.
Prayer Requests – Pray for transitions in the coming week into our first month of ministry. Pray for goodbyes, and for peace in the challenges.
Next time you’ll hear from me – I will be elsewhere in the world! How neat is that!?!
