…watching kids from a children’s home play soccer.
…eating a donut with strawberry icing my contact graciously picked up for me on her way home.
…sitting on a bench listening to the testimony of a 60 year old man.
…riding a bike in the pouring rain.
…meeting girls in unfortunate circumstances who have dreams of studying to become doctors, translators, etc, and then using all their money to help families and poor people.
…standing in a circle, holding hands with people I just met, praying over their lives and blessings for the upcoming week.
…getting a taste of all the hard work the full time staff puts in here to make things run smoothly.
…realizing that 3 mile bike ride (seemingly uphill both ways) is more work than a few words in a blog can adequately express.
…sharing a meal with my team which is full of grilled cheeses and tomato soup because a rainy day demands nothing less awesome for cozy, comfort food.
…thinking how normal it feels to live in a small room with 5 girls I didn’t know existed a year ago and now are my family.
I am still raising funds for this year. I need to be fully funded by the end of this month. I am only about $2,000 short. If you would like to donate, you can click the link to the left: “Support Me!”
Thank you all for the support given thus far via messages, emails, texts, dollars, and prayers.
