So I have been discovering that each month so far has had a theme for me:

Month 1: Resting in God/Learning to abandon all my activities in exchange for letting God lead the way.

Month 2: Learning to love without expecting anything in return/Learning new facets of what love looks like- both to give and to receive.

Month 3: Prayer-  Listening for God's voice/Going deeper in 'self-less' prayer: Praying for others or other's situations that will not actually affect my life in any way.

'Selfless Prayer.' Sounds like a simple concept, but for me (and I would imagine for many people) it is kind of a new idea: to pray for things that won't actually affect ME and MY lifeSo many of our prayers are for ourselves, our family, our friends, their lives and their circumstances. How often do we lift up people or situations in prayer that are in no way affecting us? Not often- at least for me. So I guess you could say, I am working on becoming a 'prayer warrior' for others 🙂

If you read my last blog post, you probably picked on the fact that I was feeling a bit stir crazy for a couple days here in this small town. But now I'm seeing more of what Gods doing in this town and within me. I'm pressing deeper in prayer and feeling much better overall 🙂

I also started reading Seth Barnes's book (Seth is the founder of The World Race) Art of Listening Prayer and its been really cool 'practicing' hearing the Father's voice. Plus like ALL of the ministry we do here is prayer-related (hospital visits praying for the sick, neighborhood visits offering people prayer, prayer mtgs, etc) so that's been a convenient little coincidence! Prayer is definitely the theme of this month.

So just know that I am prayin up a storm. I'm praying for you, I'm listening for God (and actually hearing from Him!), I'm learning a lot, and I'm loving it.

Thank YOU to all of you who I know are praying for me. I FEEL your prayers! Be assured that your prayers are powerful and effective…and I really appreciate them and you.

Cheers…
Here's to prayin for you, kid!
