For those of you who do not know me, my name is Christina Cooley and in September I will be leaving to travel around the world on a program called the World Race.
The World Race is an extended service trip that travels to 11 countries in 11 months (1 country per month). In each country, the team partners with various local non-profits and ministries to complete whatever work is needed. My work will vary from country to country but will be service oriented and will most likely consist of things such as, but not limited to, teaching english, working with orphanages, working with rehabilitation centers related to human trafficking, teaching about sexual health and prevention, etc.
I will be going on September Route 2 which will take me to Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, Japan, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Swaziland, Botswana, and South Africa.
I would love to say that I know exactly how I will be used and how I will be able to serve, but the truth is that I don’t. I am setting out on this journey ready to listen to the stories of people I meet, share my story and create new stories. I hope that through this trip I will be able to share back the ways I see God working in the world and show that we are all connected.
I’m here to serve, not to be served and I realized that whether I like it or not life happens outside our comfort zone. With that said, I am ready to fast from comfort for the next year and see what God has in store.
I would love it if you would consider being part of this journey.
