I felt a rush of freedom when I cut my hair. It bubbled up inside me and I couldn't help but laugh when I was cutting it off.

I'm sure I looked crazy.

I gathered all my hair and ran upstairs where worship was still underway. I walked to the front of the room and asked Brad to stop worship because I had something to say.

Scissors in one hand and hair in the other, I said.

“My identity is found in Christ, not my hair”

There were a lot of shocked faces.

After all the hugging, worship was back on and I walked out to the balcony and danced in the rain.

Freedom.

The next evening our squad leaders started session with prayer and prophesies.

Not just any prophesy, these prophesies came from people we didn't know. They were from 1st generation P-squad. All they knew about us was our names. They prayed over our names and wrote down what God gave them.

This is what I got…

“Christina Garcia,

Beloved princess, do you know how beautiful you are? Do you know that your King, your Dad, and your Love are captivated by your beauty? Girl, like RAVISHING beauty! That is the word I keep hearing Him speak and sing over you. Do you sing Christina? Yes? No? Either way, it's time to release some beauty from that vocal box of yours. A soft and gentle tone will be deposited into your Spirit, your voice, and your activity is needed within this squad. P Squad is not operating in its fullness without you. Sing out loud, you've got a voice and a message specifically deposited within you. You will release captives, set those in bondage free. Dance, sing, live life out loud! Christina you are not only ravishing but stunning and absolutely captivating."

-Megan D., P Squad: 1st Generation

I was absolutely shocked. Like jaw dropped, chills running all over my body kind of shocked.

God spoke to me through a complete stranger.

This message was confirmation that He's thinks I'm beautiful, important, and gifted.

I still get excited reading it, God's Spirit is still very much alive in the message and will continue to stay alive forever.

But the word of the Lord endures forever.

1 Peter 1:25

I'm at a stage in my walk with God where I want to abandon everything that keeps me from walking in freedom with Him.

Are you walking in abandonment? I encourage you to examine your life to see what scares you, what makes you feel insecure, what your afraid to lose.

Give it to God, He'll bless you with more than you can imagine.

For whoever will lose his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.

Mark 8:35
