Me: “Really.. I don't know if I'm supposed to be doing this. No one's showing up and it's already 6:45pm. I don't know if The World Race is.. ”
My amazing friend: (pointing at me) “Hey! Don't say that! Get thee behind me satan! You have no authority in Jesus name! Girl you better snap out of it!”
Ouch.
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.
Revelation 3:19
I was so blown away by the power behind her words. That sword cut right through my doubts, fears and worries and suddenly the storm in my heart calmed.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
A few things happened to me the moment she spoke those words.
-
Both life and death occurred in my being. God brought life to my diminishing flame of faith and He also put to death the lies of the enemy.
All I could hear was “Oh ye of little faith” .. Ouch.
-
I also questioned my commitment to Him. Jesus calls us to be in absolute devotion to Him and to avoid lukewarmness. In Revelation 3:15-16 God warns His people to be either hot or cold and if you're neither, He will vomit you out of His mouth. Yikes! ((Repentance))

God was also so sweet to me as He was telling me to focus on Him and not the distractions that surround me. When Peter had his eyes locked on Jesus he had the faith to step out into the water and walk toward Him. “Keep your eyes on Me” 🙂
I have yet to find out the numbers for the Chick-Fil-A fundraiser, they're still calculating them. (Hopefully a lot of numbers)
My friend showed up and said that God placed an idea in her heart to bless a family with dinner and for me to choose the family. We waited and waited for the right family to show up, and finally a woman with her two daughters and son walked in. Turned out that the woman is a pastor's wife and she was getting dinner on the go because her Marine husband was flying in that night from being deployed overseas! That was so stinkin awesome!! Even if I don't receive a penny from the fundraiser, that alone blessed my heart.
I also had the privilege to meet this sweet old couple. The husband showed that he loved his wife with small gestures like taking the fork out it's plastic wrapping and opening up the wrapper to her sandwich. It was so sweet! I gushed over them the whole night!
Then God revealed to me that Jesus will always love his bride and He will care for her through good and bad, even the little things 🙂
I walked away knowing that God will never leave me or forsake me.
Word of the day: Mustard seed.
