I have seen tons and tons of picture on instagram, statuses on facebook, and tweets on twitter about how everyone has the best mother in the world. Let me tell you why I have the best mother in the world!
My mama has been there for me through absolutely everything in my life. Literally. From my first steps, to the first day of preschool, to watching me receive my high school diploma, to moving me into my dorm freshman year at Purdue, to moving me to my apartment when I transferred to Ball State, to breakups, to watching me receive my Bachelor’s Degree, to moving me to Florida for grad school. She was at every single gymnastics practices, every soccer game, every softball game, every karate tournament (okay so there was only one but she was still there), every tennis match, and every school even that I ever had. She never missed anything. Even though I made my family sit at least two courts away at my high school tennis matches, I am still so thankful to have a mother and family that was, and still is, so supportive of everything I do and every decision I make. In the 12 years that I played soccer, my mama never missed a single game. I might have completely blocked out all the cheering from the sidelines because I was so focused on the game, but I still loved that she yelled anyway. At least I assume she yelled because like I said, I blocked out every noise coming from all the rowdy parents.
My mama is so talented too. Check out Ever Sew Personal to see some examples of her awesome sewing and embroidery skills. This is also a great example of how selfless she is. She has raised hundreds of dollars for me and every penny goes towards my trip. The money that she receives from selling the items goes straight into my account. Now that is an awesome mom. She is also an awesome cook. Even though she hates cooking. I always look forward to going home to having some of her home cooked meals. And also because I hate cooking too… 🙂
My mama is funny. Whenever I am with her we laugh until our stomachs hurt. We have some of the most ridiculous conversations. Some of the best times are with her, her best friend, and my best friend (my best friend’s mom is her best friend!) Black Friday shopping this past year was a blast.
My mama has been my biggest fan, role model, best friend, and the most beautiful person inside and out. When I told her I wanted to go on this mission trip she simply said “Go.” She said that I should do it while I have the chance. So of course I had to listen to her. I honestly don’t know where I would be today without her.
Love you Mama!
