Welcome to my blog!!

Blogging is new to me so hang in there while I figure everything out.. I have recently committed to a once in a lifetime opportunity. Through prayer and family/friend encouragement, I have answered God’s calling for my life immediately following grad school. Click on the link About on the left to get to know me a little bit 🙂

11 Countries in 11 Months

I will be leaving in September 2014 for almost a year long mission trip around the world. I will be traveling to Haiti, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Malaysia. We will be doing whatever is needed in each place we stay. Here is an idea of some of the things we could potentially be doing while in the field: building churches, befriending young girls who have suffered due to sex slavery, loving on orphaned children, and much, much more! I am unbelievably excited and blessed to be able to spread God’s word to people all across the world. But I need your help!

There are several ways you can help:

Encourage: This is going to be an incredibly hard journey. Leaving behind all of my friends and family to spend a year with people who I haven’t even met yet. That’s tough. I have A LOT to do to prepare for this trip. Simple words of encouragement go a long way.

Spread the word: Feel free to share my blogs as I update them. The more people that read this the better! Maybe it will encourage some of you to go on your own world race

Financial Support: This mission trip is priceless to me; however, the world doesn’t think so. I have to raise over $16,000 in order to complete the trip. Any and all help is very much appreciated. This money will be going towards travel expenses, food, lodging, and insurance. In addition, I will also have to buy personal items (such as sleeping bag, backpack, tent, etc.). There is a link on the left to donate online. Checks and money orders are also acceptable. If you want to help out, even if it’s just $10, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!

Pray, pray, pray: Even though I have answered a calling to go on this trip, prayers are always accepted. Pray for my teammates and me that we will be able to raise the necessary money, that we will be strong enough to leave home for so long, and that we will stay healthy while in the field.

Over the next year and a half, I will be continuing to update my blog to share my story as I go along. Keep checking in!
