Thank you for sharing…

This is my standard yet fully heartfelt response after someone shares what’s on their heart. I’ve choked it out as tears filled my eyes, fumbled it out when I’ve sat speechless with no other response, and said it a million other times in hard but beautifully vulnerable moments.

Although I’m usually the one listening, I recently shared with one of my teams something that the Lord revealed to me this past summer. Later that week I was thanked for sharing and was urged to share more of my thoughts. The Lord reminded me that the love notes that He gives me are meant to be given away and not kept to myself…so I’m sharing now…

On growing in intimacy with the Father:

Picture a little girl who is growing up with the most amazing Dad. She knows Him to be so amazing because of the ways that He has shown her love. He spends time with her…He talks to her…He loves her even when she messes up…He spoils her… He is one of those superhero Dads that she just knows could save the world if He needed to. So this little girl goes to school and tells her friend how great her Dad is. She tells the new friend all about how incredible He is, but her friend just can’t believe a father could be that great…because her’s never was. Months go by and the little girl finally convinces her friend to come to the house and meet her Dad. The friend is hesitant, but the little girl just knows deep in her heart that if her Dad loves her so much that He must have enough love for her friend too. And in the moments when the little girl sees her Dad embrace and love her new friend as one of His own…the little girl’s relationship with her Father is taken to new depths of love, intimacy, and understanding. The little girl knew her Dad would come through…and He did.

Well, that little girl has been me…

If you didn’t understand what I’ve been doing with my life the past year, I hope that that gives you a little more understanding. I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside some incredible young people and getting to teach them about the Abba I know. I get to share my struggles, my stories, and my heart for them to know God like I know Him. And in that midst of that process, I’ve felt my understanding of Him grow as He whispers “you were right…I do love them as much as I love you…good job sweetheart…”

A huge THANK YOU to my friends and family for supporting me financially, emotionally, and through prayer these past 2 years on the field. I was officially FULLY FUNDED this month, in another sweet love note from the Lord. I’m so thankful that I get to be obedient in whatever the Lord calls me to.
