Hello from Team Seven:Eleven! I’m sure all of you are wondering what exactly we will be doing this month in Cambodia. Most of us have let you in on the fact that we will be in a rural area of Cambodia, but we haven’t divulged much more information than that. So now I am going to get a little bit more specific so that you all have a better idea of what we’ll be doing and how you can better pray for our team.

Who We Will Be Working With:

This month we will be partnering with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) again. However, our team in particular will be working and living alongside Four Square Church, who partners alongside YWAM. Four Square Church is actually a church, an orphanage, and a farm in one, so there will be plenty of ministry opportunities available for us this month. Pastor Sokhon and his family live and work at the church facility to help teach and train the children in the love of God.

Where We Will Be:

Four Square Church is located in a remote area of Cambodia, in Banan City, close to the Thailand-Cambodia border. This is a very rural area of Cambodia, about an hour’s drive to the closest town with internet access. We’ve been told that Banan is one of the most beautiful areas of Cambodia and we will be staying about a half of a mile from a mountain that we will be able to hike. Because we are in such a remote area, there will be no electricity either, unless we pay to use the generator. Thank the Lord, we don’t have to break out our tents just yet though, as they do have a couple of rooms and a shower for us to use. If you want to look up where we will be online, don’t expect to find much on Banan City, but try looking up Battambang City instead, which is the nearest larger city, about an hour’s drive away.

What We Will Be Doing:

Like I mentioned before, there will be a variety of ministry opportunities available this month, which will be largely dependent on what we want to do and learning to take initiative as well. Some of the different available ministries include: church cell groups, church services, neighborhood evangelism, teaching English, the bible, songs, and arts and crafts, helping out at the farm, and of course, the on-site orphanage. There are also two other orphanages within a short distance as well.

How You can Pray for us:

Team unity; we’ve been working through some divisions amongst the team and trying to find a healthy balance amongst our relationships

Travel mercies: Tuesday we will be driving down five hours towards the border (yes, 5 hours back towards where we just came from) and as I mentioned before, Pam and I both have a bad back

Initiative as a team to seek out ministry opportunities and not become complacent with where we are at

-For the children at the orphanages we will be working with, that they would see the love of Christ within us

-That we will have opportunities to share our faith with different people in the city of Banan.

-To find our home and comfort in Christ, as we will be in a very rural area, we won’t have the option of sneaking away to the internet and talking to people back at home as often.

A big THANK YOU, WE MISS YOU, and WE LOVE YOU from team Seven:Eleven
