Lately I’ve found myself in the book of Acts. Reading about a man named Saul, who had a radical conversion to become a Christ follower (now named Paul), and followed up with a radical life of ministry…

Saul: a pharisee, campaigner, oppressor, and eradicator of Christians; well known for his beliefs and advocacy of routing and imprisoning believers.

Paul: preacher, missionary, and follower of Christ; well known and often imprisoned, beaten, and hated for his beliefs and advocacy of Christianity.

Same man… two completely different lives… and it got me to thinking… how often I write people and/or situations off….

“He will never change.”                     “She is who she is”            “That family is hopeless.”

“This will never work”             “He’ll never become a Christian.”                   “She’s destined for failure.”

“No good can come of this.”                   “I’ll never get hired”            “This is hopeless.”

                                                                        etc, etc, etc

Who am I to say that any person or any situation is hopeless? God can do amazing things. God transformed a Christ hater into a Christ lover and advocate, willing to lose EVERYTHING that he once treasured and count it all as LOSS compared to the value of KNOWING CHRIST. If anyone was ever hopeless it was this man… Paul. And look what God was able to do with him!

What person or situation have you been writing off as hopeless? Who do you need to stop considering as doomed, and start praying for? What situation do you need to let go of and acknowledge that God can turn that situation around and do AMAZING things with?

There’s no such thing as hopeless. When will we start living like it?
