Well I have a few moments to spare, so I thought maybe I should catch up since I haven’t been so good at blogging. In the beginning I set a goal of once a week blogs… but I guess I didn’t realize how busy I would be with my other commitments, so here it is, August 8th, and I’ve written about eight blogs in the last four months, woopsies! Anywho… I wanted to write a blog that I hope won’t be interpreted as negative, because that’s not my intention at all. It’s just that this last month of preparation is filled with all kinds of emotions, and part of that is realizing some things that i am going to miss while I am gone. Soooooo I decided to make a list. Hey, I can’t help it, I’m just naturally a list maker 🙂
Things I will Miss this Next Year…
1. My soft comfy bed and pillows
2. My cat (that just happens to sleep with me on my soft, comfy bed)
3. My car and driving in general– oh how i love to drive!
4. Working out consistently (and my elliptical machine at the house)
5. My cell phone and being able to call people up whenever
6. Having straight hair (i.e. my straightener)
7. Volunteering at my church nursery and missing out on a year of these kids lives
8. Sandals, my amazing church
9. Goldenspoon and Yogurtland– if you don’t know what these are, then man are you missing out!
10. Air conditioning… i mean who wouldn’t miss that!?
11. Jamba juice, gotta love it
12. Warm, long, good pressure showers
13. etc, etc, etc…
I know right now you may be reading this thinking, what the heck? Where’s my name? Isn’t she going to miss me? Yes, I am going to miss certain people more than I can possibly express on any given blog, so I won’t even try to add names to a list of silly, materialistic, spoiled American things….
Okay, so now to offset what may be interpreted as negative, I will now include a list of some things I am looking forward to this next year.
What I Am Excited for This Year
1. Meeting and developing relationships with my teammates
2. Growing more into the person God has intended me to be
3. Stepping out of my comfort zone
4. Traveling around the world- duh!
5. Seeing amazing historical places I’ve read about and studied in school
6. Helping those in need who are not able to help themselves
7. Playing with little African children
8. Holding babies as much as possible
9. Learning to be truly thankful for what God has given me
10. No pressure to shower much, haha
11. Seeing beautiful places, because let’s face it… America is pretty ugly
12.
13. etc, etc, etc
It’s going to be crazy. It’s going to be absolutely, without a doubt, ridiculous. I can’t even possibly begin to imagine what this next year will be like… I’m going to love it, I’m going to hate it, I’m going to want to leave, I’m going to want to stay… it’s going to be a rollercoaster and ready or not… in 23 days it begins!
