In less than five hours the September Squad will be on our
way into the unknown. We will be traveling to a closed country, where
there is religious persecution and we are unable to speak words that are a
normal part of our vocabulary. In order to protect the missionaries we will be
connecting with while in-country, we will not be using the internet during our
stay there.
It will be challenging to go from a country that is so full
of light into such a dark place. But Christ has called us to be the light, and so we go confidently
and boldly, knowing that God will do amazing things over the course of the next
three weeks.
The best way that you can help us over the course of the
next three weeks is to cover our team in prayer daily. So below I have listed
some prayer requests of our squad and for my specific team, seven:eleven. Thank you so much for your
prayers, I am sure that God will use them to bless our teams.
-Pray against
fear as we head into a closed country
-Pray
for team dynamics. Pray that our team would learn to operate as one body under Christ, unified
in Christ.
-Pray
for a smooth transition from a leadership change that we have recently
undergone.
-Pray for wisdom and
discernment for Brandon as our new
leader
-Pray
for discipline with our quiet times this month
-Pray
for a growing desire for God above all else
-Pray
against complacency
-Pray
that we will be a blessing to the ministry contacts we work with
-Pray
for safe travels into and within this closed country
-Pray
that our luggage makes it safely and that we make the weight limit
-Pray
for developing relationships within our team, that we would seek to encourage and spur each other on to good deeds, and not put each other down
-Pray
for obedience to God’s will for this month
-Pray
that others may come to know the Lord through our love for each other
-Pray for homesickness since we will not have any communication with home while in-country
-Pray for our hearts as we leave this place that we love so much here in the Philippines
Thank you so much. Your prayers are always important, but
they are especially needed this next month as we will be in such a dark place.
Our team is so excited to see what God is going to do in this closed country
and within our team over the next three weeks. God is good, all the time, and
we don’t expect this month to be any different
Talk to you all sometime after January 20th!
