This journey keeps getting and more interesting.  As most of you have heard, we drove from Rwanda to Uganda just to find out that Ebola was spreading rapidly and we were going to be rerouted to Kenya for safety reasons.  The men were still going to South Sudan, so we had to wait until safe transportation could be found.  It was a little unnerving at first, having no idea when we were leaving, and having to be ready at a moment’s notice.   Still, we got there just fine, and our house was actually the first stop across the border.  We were so pleasantly blessed to walk into this beautiful home with clean, tile floors, bunk beds, and tea served at four every day.  It was five o’clock in the morning, but never was I more thrilled to see a huge breakfast on the table.  Everything has been amazing ever since.

I should probably tell you first that our teams are different this month.  Due to the men going to South Sudan, all of the women were re-arranged and placed on different teams.  My new team consists of Peggy Cheng (our only Canadian), Andrea Lebsock, my last team leader Melissa Crilly, and our new team leader Dura Mcknight.  These are four incredible women, and from the first we have been completely open and vulnerable with each other.  There is such a spirit of freedom when you know that you are in one accord as a group, and that God is at the center of each of your lives.   We have amazing prayer sessions, and the spirit of encouragement and unity is strong.   We are named The Remnant, because God has chosen us, the scraps left over, to set-apart, call His daughters, and knit us together to use for His glory.

Our third day of ministry we did door to door evangelism, and we encountered a huge battle practically right after stepping out the door.  Our first and second houses were filled with so much darkness that it was hard to concentrate from feeling the oppressiveness in the air.  In the second house one man had even dabbled quite a bit in the satanic and was obviously under demonic influence..  Still, they invited us in, and regardless of him being a big distraction and making a joke out of everything, four people came to Christ.  This has been the case in several days of ministry here, but every time the Lord has shown His power and we have come together to fight and have truly been more than conquerors through Him.

Our ministry is incredibly varied this month, from working in an orphanage, to evangelism, to preaching, to hospital visits.  We are praying in faith that by the end of this month many will be healed and the hospital will be completely emptied.  We would be thrilled if you would be praying with us; our God is completely able, and I believe He wants to show His love to these people in this incredible way.
