God is a good good God….feeling encouraged, so i thought i’d pass it on.
“Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will work for you today…the Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” :::Exodus 14.13-14:::
we have a desire to speak and a desire to move. we like to squirm. to dry to fix things for ourselves. why is that? i think it ultimately shows our lack of trust. sometimes we are asked to move – in big ways, in little ways. but other times we are simply asked to calm down – to wait on the Lord. you know what happens when we wait on the Lord? strength.
“but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint.” :::Isaiah 40.31:::
so don’t be afraid of whatever it is you’re afraid of. instead, stand still, and not just still, but stand FIRM. and watch. He says to “stand” and to “see”…..just watch Me. and what are we waiting for? what are we watching? we’re watching Him split the Red Sea. we’re watching Him orchestrate our future. we’re watching Him heal our brokenness. we’re watching Him provide. we’re watching Him fight for us while we’re silent. it’s in these moments that i think He is most glorified because it is only Him. we can give credit to no one but Him.
it doesn’t always look like the splitting of the Red Sea, but one thing is true…this is the character of our God. He fights for us. He takes care of you. He is gentle with me. patience leads to strength. amen, Jesus, you are our strength.
we are told to “be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” :::Ephesians 6.10:::
what else are we told? to “take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to STAND FIRM.” :::Ephesians 6.13:::
maybe it is in these moments of waiting and standing firm that He is preparing us. He is giving us His strength. His strength so that in the evil day, in times of severe hardship, that we can REMAIN. STANDING. FIRM. i don’t want to just be someone who stands for Jesus…i want to be someone who stands FIRM for Jesus…that way there is not question…there is no wavering. i want to wait. because i want wings. i want to be an eagle.
