With the end of my final semester of undergraduate studies at Northwest Nazarene University only a few weeks off, I was starting to panic at what my plan was for after I finally received my bachelor's in Chemistry. I knew I didn't want to stop at just a bachelor's, but would eventually go on for my master's; and maybe even my doctorate if I still really wanted to. The problem was, I didn't feel like it was where I needed to go right after I graduated. The more I thought about going straight from 4 years of college to yet another few more years of graduate college, the more I was sure that this wasn't quite how my agenda was suppose to look.

That's when I figured God was putting that feeling in me to give me a chance to return to the missions field once again because I had been so desperately missing it. You see, I know God has called me to a life of work in the foreign mission field, using my love and knowledge of Chemistry to help build up His kingdom in whatever way He leads me; but I had been missing this mission field so badly after spending 4 years in a classroom. I was ready to take a break and get back out in the world for a nice refreshing of the spirit. So that is precisely what I did. Within a few short days of this, I was signed up for the July route of the World Race mission trip.

What led me to the World Race is a strange story, because I had heard about it a few years ago from an alumni of a previous World Race trip. When I had decided I was going to take a long term mission trip after I graduated, the second I was reminded of the World Race, I instantly knew that was where I was suppose to go. I can't explain how I knew or why I was so sure of it, but I just was.. so I didn't second guess it and went with my heart.

So that's how I am where I am today, with the launch of the trip only a few weeks away from now (July 3rd). As the time nears, I get more anxious, more excited, more nervous every day. I have already gotten to know my squad of 50 extremely well, and I love every single one of them! In the short amount of time we have known each other, they have already become like my brothers and sisters! I am so excited for what God has in store for each and every one of my squad-mates and I as we enter into the next season of our lives that He has called us to!
