So, remember when I told you all that I would be documenting Moses' progress with me every day? Well, that was really ambitious of me with this lifestyle. So, here is just an overall update.

Moses is doing GREAT! We have now switched from going to the orphanage home in the afternoons to the mornings. In the mornings, Moses is in the school room most of the time and so I just take him out for 30 minutes or so each day before we leave. But when I walk into that room, he looks me right in the eye and walks towards me. He opens his arms wide and waits for me to pick him up. He knows who I am which is a HUGE thing. He trusts me and knows me.

I am coming to you because I really need your help. I am falling in love with this little boy and I want more than anything for him to be adopted or sponsored. In order for him to be sponsored, which would provide all daily, routine expenses are covered with the basic child sponsorship: housing, traditional Indian meals rich in a variety of meat, vegetables, & fruit, nutritional supplements (Pediasure, vitamins, minerals), diapers (if needed), caregiver & nurse salaries, laundry, clothing, medicines, physiotherapy and doctor’s visits.

He only needs $200 a month. I currently have $300 in my personal account that I want to give to Moses. I am asking for someone out there to sponsor him with my help. I believe in him SOOO much and more than anything right now I want him to be taken care of and loved. Please sponsor him with me. I believe there is someone out there that God has been preparing for this commitment. Trust in Him for this. He knows you are ready.

If you would like more information on how to spoinsor Moses (Elijah) or more information on India Christian Ministries and Sarah's Covenant Homes (the orphanage), you can do so here: http://www.schindia.com/children/elijah/

We were asked to write a blog on our kid for India Christian Ministries to let people know about these kids. Below is what I wrote. I hope you can get to know Moses a little bit more this way. Please contact me and partner with me to make Moses' life here in India better than it is currently.

Meet Moses

I have had the privilege of working with and getting to know Moses these past weeks. Who is Moses? He is an explorer. He LOVES to have the freedom to walk around and explore his surroundings. Anything he can get his hands on, he will. He always wants to be doing something. He is a quiet kid and likes to keep to himself, but he enjoys doing that while getting to know his surroundings.

While he enjoys exploring, he needs some time to warm up to new exploration buddies. When I first met him, he wouldn't make direct eye contact with me or smile much. He wouldn't crawl into my arms or hug me. He didn't trust me. After visiting him every day for two and a half weeks, he knows who I am. When I walk into his school room, he gets up and comes towards me. He opens his arms wide so I can pick him up. He gives me hugs. He lays down on the ground and leans on my leg. He holds my arm. He looks into my eyes and makes my heart melt.

He is FULL of love. He just doesn't get the opportunity to give it to people much. He loves kisses on the cheek and loves being thrown into the air. Mostly, though, he loves to be treated as an individual. He is not just a number and he doesn't want to be treated that way. Give him guided independence and free love and he will be the happiest person around. I am so happy I have been able to spend my time with Moses. He is such a special kid.
