God wants me to shine. God wants you to shine. A few weeks ago I saw an image of the word "SHINE" getting brighter and brighter with rays extending out. Last night I was shining for HIM. My Father. My Daddy. God.
We are currently in Capetown, South Africa with our Squad until today (Easter) and tomorrow we are leaving for Hyderabad, India (via Dubia with Emerites airlines). And this debrief has come with big things for all of us. We have had leadership and team changes amongst our squad.
I am still on an all girls team (WOO HOO!!!), but I am only with one past team member from Grow Freely and then five new team members (who are all awesome). Oh, also I am not the treasurer anymore.
So we found out all of this information yesterday during the day. Then last night we had a worship talent show. During that we were asked to ask God if there was anything He wanted us to do in front of the squad.
Typically, I would write a song or sing a song or something like that. But, God had different plans for me.
As I have been letting go of things in my life, God has been teaching me and reminding me of how much I LOVE to dance. I remember making up dances to cheesy 90s pop music with my friends growing up because I just loved dancing.
Well, sometime over the years I have become embarassed to dance in front of people with freedom and confidence.
God told me to dance for the talent show. And so I did.
Last month I had been dancing a bit here and there during my personal worship time and that was when God told me I was going to dance for Him during debrief.
I got to debrief and I knew I was still supposed to dance, but I had nothing planned except a song God placed on my heart. The song is called "Let it Shine" by All Sons and Daughters
It is all about how there are truths for every lie and we are to speak out the truth and let it shine above the darkness. It's all about how we are to shine in what He has for us.
So I didn't plan a single dance move and I just played the ipod and I danced.
I was freeer than I have ever been. It felt so good and it wasn't a struggle at all. I was dancing in a freedom and with moves I had never done before. It was SOOOO much fun and so free!!!!
On top of that. God told me that the dance was not just for me. That there were people in the squad that were being asked by God to dance for Him too. So I invited anyone else to dance with me as well if they felt lead.
About halfway through two other girls danced with me and then at the end I grabbed another.
What a joy it was to shine for God. Come, Come, Let His light Shine today.
Video to come later. 🙂
