For the sake of the gospel Jan. 23rd

In the past few days, we have heard some very troubling news. There was an American missionary who was here for three years that just left the day that we arrived. She met her Mozambiquen husband here and they had been married for one year. Last Monday she finished her time here at this base and went to South Africa. In the process of the week, she came down with a form of hepatitis, Malaria, and liver failure. We found out about this two nights ago and all of us rallied together and prayed for her.

The very next day we were in our team time and we were told that she had died. This morning I was told that her church back at home got enough money together to pay for her operation, but unfortunately it was a day too late.

This story breaks my heart and we all do not really know what to do with it. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any coincidence that this happened after her 3 years of sharing the gospel. The enemy does NOT like what these missionaries are doing because they are spreading God's word. Missionaries here are leading people closer and closer to Christ in a very dark, spiritual place.

I just want to ask you all for your prayers of protection over this place we are staying at. People have been having scary, unsettling dreams and feeling some uneasiness at times in their spirit. We need prayers. We worship every night and pray as we go to sleep and God is doing big things here, but we need protection. We believe in a God who can and will protect us, but I want to call on all of my Christian friends and family to come with us in prayer.

God tells us that sharing His word will not be easy, but it is worth it.  Please unite with us in prayer. Thank you everyone.
