It didn't take long for the therapy session that is World Race Training Camp to begin.  From the start, the Holy Spirit was hard at work breaking down walls, invading barriers and making sure that all of our personal bubbles were popped within the first few days.  It's a kind of community that I've never experienced before and I loved every minute of it.

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12 says "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:  If one falls down, his friend can help him up.  But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!  Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.  But how can one keep warm alone?  Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

These words resonated with me throughout Training Camp.  Whenever a leader or trainer asked me what I wanted most out of the World Race experience all I had to do was stretch out my arms and say, "This.  These people.  This sense of community is what I want."  Everywhere you looked people were playing games, singing songs, circled up in prayer, laughing and expressing genuine love for each other.

I am so incredibly thankful that I will not only have one or two other people on this adventure with me, but that my whole B Squad family will be walking along my side.  I can only hope that I will be able to pour into them as much as they have poured into me this past week.  Embrace the cheesiness and hear me when I say that God is going to move mountains with this group of people.

I can't wait to be a part of it!

On a lighter note, I'd like to share a few of the most commonly heard phrases throughout the week that exemplify the strong sense of community among the World Racers in good ole Copperhill, TN.

"I havent showered in 3 days."…followed closely by…"Does anyone have body spray and/or Febreeze?"

(Usually said to a stranger) "Heck yes I'll finish your half-eaten oatmeal.  Um, yeah, I'm going to need your spoon too.  Thanks."

"I'll give you $5 if you eat that bug."

I'm also confident that at some point a B Squad Training Camp soundtrack entitled "Dishwashing Sessions" will be produced featuring a couple of T. Swift classics, "Wagon Wheel," a plethora of love ballads, 90s rock songs and maybe some Shania Twain thrown in here and there.  It would be epic.  Just sayin.
