Our first month on the World Race and the only word I can think to say is “WOW.” God has really made his presence known in our squad and he has had his hand in everything we have done. We’ve been blessed with the opportunity to help with a ministry that goes into a poorer area of Medellin, called Manantiales, and we help by playing with kids, serving the elderly and going into the community to bless their homes with prayer and love.
This last weekend we helped with a worship concert and a full-blown church service at the compound in Manantiales. On Saturday we held the concert and wow was that just an absolute blessing from God. We were prepared for many people to show up and then it began to rain and we became so discouraged that it wasn’t going to go as planned and nobody would show up to the event.
But I’ll tell you that God’s plan is so much sweeter than ours could ever be. Sure maybe not as many people that we were counting on came but God sure did. It was so beautiful to witness God take a discouraging moment in our ministry and turn it into something so good.
Before the worship concert began we all got together as a squad and with the locals that were there and began praying. Altogether, English and Spanish, we all lifted the event up before God so his will could be done in us and in the event.
At that moment I could feel the presence of God fall on us and the gym we were in. When the concert began we were all slow getting into the feel of where God was taking us but as the songs went on and the amazing testimonies were shared, we became fully submerged in the sweet presence of God.
We all just let go of everything that was holding us back and put our shame aside to focus fully on God and just danced in his sweet presence. It didn’t matter what language the song was played in, we all would just jump around and Glorify the Holy name of God.
The more time I get to spend with Jesus the more he becomes like my brother and best friend. It says in Mark 3:35 (NASB) “For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother.” This first month has been full of learning and figuring out how to hear God and know His will for me and the squad. But it has been a much-needed learning experience because he has used us to touch lives that needed to be touched and be an example for those who have grown up doing drugs and drinking alcohol and always living life a day at a time, instead of living with eternity in mind.
It has been such an honor to serve alongside my squad mates in furthering the Kingdom of God, and knowing that God used us and still wants to use us to bring His Kingdom here to earth just blows my mind. It’s been one month thus far and God has done so much, I am so excited to see what His will for Gap N is and in what ways He will continue to use us.
THANK YOU for all the support that you have given and all the prayers. Your prayers are paving the way for me and my squad to go out and push the Kingdom of Heaven further.
