With only a couple days left in 2018, God has really been nostalgic in my spirit and in my life these past weeks. I am listening to songs that I listened to in middle school that still have the same power today as they did back in the day. Watching movies that I watched when I was kid. Seeing and reconnecting with old friends and family members I haven’t seen in a while.
The past couple days, I have looked back on everything that happened in 2018 that got me to where I am today, two days before 2019. Tears, laughter, joy, sorrow, big moments, and even little moments. Everyone knows that God is in every moment. No matter what is going on. But what I always forget, is that He is there in the littlest details of the very smallest moments of our lives. Everything that happened in 2018 was my Father orchestrating all the tiniest details in my life so I could get to where He wants me right now.
As 2018 comes to a close, I am encouraged by everything that God is going to orchestrate to happen in 2019. A good family friend of ours said one time, “The Israelites didn’t look back when they were coming out of Egypt. They left everything in Egypt and had no doubts. They kept looking forward to what God had promised them.” I am encouraging myself and everyone who reads this to leave everything back in 2018. Your worries, your low points, your disappointments, everything. Don’t look back. Look forward to what God has for you in 2019. Lay 2018 down and be done with it.
It is time for a resurrection of life and a revival in 2019.
2019, BRING IT ON!
