Since arriving in Peru, God has really open my eyes about friendships. The ones I should not have had, the ones I should not have ended, the ones my own sinful/prideful nature forced an end to. Truth is God is sovereign in all things. This includes others hearts and feelings they may have toward you. If friendships are meant to happen, God will open up the person heart. If not, we are not meant for friendship with that person. In this area we must be forgiven to grow a future or current relationship with someone. As God is forgiven of us when we distant ourselves from him.
Just as we desire to build strong relationships with our spouse, life long amigos, family, etc, we are called to grow a relationship with the Lord. If we reject our spouse or amigos, the relationship will suffer. As I was feeding a baby for the first time (picture below), the thought occurred to me. How will I have a relationship with Gods creation? Will I be able to develop one in such a short time?
Truth is God has me here to love these children as they are. God has created them in his image, such as me, such as the baby below. My short time here is by the grace of God. These children will be impacted by my love, as I grow spiritually in the Lord. As I press into him at times of depression, sadness, edgarness for more, loneliness, etc. We all have emotions. In many ways we are spiritually weak. Always will be. As we grow in the Lord, the stronger we will grow. Such as the baby below will grow.
