A strange feeling araises as I walk through the streets of Europe. Such a beautiful place, filled with scenery that is breathtakingly beautiful. Nice cars, clean water, air conditioning fresh food, all first world amenities can be spotted around Montenegro.

Spending three months in Africa will alter how you visualize food, friendships, love, ministry, life, etc. People of Ghana did not have much, however the Gospel is open everywhere, with ears that are ready to listen.

In the midst of dirty streets, unclean water, naked children, hunger, there is Jesus. His love seems to be everywhere. People love to talk about their faith and to others. New friendships are easily formed.

Ghana is by no means a perfect open gospel nation. False teachings such as prosperity is present and very real, however Gods word is never void. People are listening and hearing. Christ seems to be entering the hearts of a nation who is open to what God has to say.

How does a first world nation view Jesus? Why does the gospel appear so closed when a nation has abundance?

Meditating on Gods word, I have to ask myself a real question. Why is it easier to follow Colossians 3:8-10, when abundance is not in pursuit?

Colossians:

3:8-10

But now you yourselves are to put off all these: Anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

Do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with his deeds.

And put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.
