Healing through Evangelism
Two months of evangelism in the kindhearted country of Ghana, has produced much fruit. Healing Samuel through Evangelism, is a divine representation of Gods faithfulness.
On our first day of ministry, the Holy Spirit lead us to a house. The house was of Ghana Middle Class standards. Outside was a man, whose swollen legs prevented easy walking. Learning that a stroke recently hit him, his life was altered by the event. Praying for his legs we promised we would return to pray again. Feeling the Holy Spirit would heal him in the process.
The next time visiting Samuel was a different scene. Entering inside the house we found him on the couch. His legs were not nearly as swollen. Able to walk short distances around the living room. Talking to him I felt the Holy Spirit leading me to share the story of the prodigal son. A common one around Christian communities, yet first time the Lord has put scripture to share on my heart. In that moment, God was speaking strongly to the team. Mentioning that God will heal him, if he turns back to me. After we prayed for him, we went to pray for his wife, who asked for general prayers. While praying for his wife, we could hear tears rolling down his face. Walking out, our team member Nathan confirmed he was feeling the same scripture to share.
After two more visits, the fifth time was a charm. Sitting in the living room we could feel the difference. His legs were much better. His voice echoed that of one who had faith. Knowing God sent us to him, he was filled with joy from the Holy Spirit. Happy moment when he spoke about reading his bible. Offering to now pray for us, as he clearly know Gods power through prayer. Samuel was aware of this being our last visit, however he was at Peace. Peace beyond understanding. After leaving with much joy, we walked down to catch the van. While we waiting we saw Samuel WALKING down the street to catch a cab. Right then we knew God has him. God used us to bring fourth spiritual life, to heal the physical.
Feeling the Holy Spirit speak on how to use evangelism as a process to heal the spiritual life of Samuel was a divine showing of Gods love for us. Praise be to Jesus for all that has transpired.
