Ghana has arrived! May has demonstrated how a strangers faith, has defined Gods will for being in Ghana, here and now.

All squad is together for another “All Squad Month.”

In the midst of first team changes, there was a uncertainty stirring inside the heart. Questions like: Why a new team? Why has the spirit lead us here? Was fundraising, leaving my life, changing everything in Gods ultimate plan?

In times of uncertainty, church has been a source of guidiance, however waking up late stopped the morning journey to find a service in English speaking Ghana.

Figuring service must have ended by this time, Carlyn and myself went to find groceries. On the way we walked passed a church, which illuminating a sound from Heaven. Both feeling lead by the spirt to attend, we bravearly, yet slowly, sat inside. Immediately, two white people draw attention. Questions that have been stirring in my heart, was repeated by church staff. Welcoming us as missionaries, we were given the floor. Truly the congregation blessed us with love, kindness, openess, and a platform to  share.

Feelings of joy from the spirit filled us as we walked back to our hotel. Suddenly, a man came running yelling, “Carlyn!” “Carlyn!”

Turning back an African man (Calvin) was chasing us. Lost in the world of alcohol, bad friends, regrets, and hurts, yet, in the midst of all these troubles, he sat outside of church. Embarrassed to step inside, he heard us speak, from the outside wall.

God deported this man back to his home country of Ghana to hear the Holy Spirit speak through us, from Libya, where he originally immigrated to. Prayer brought us all to tears as the man openly professed Jesus Christ as Lord, repented, and received forgiveness. Performing a first Baptism by water bottle as Calvins request. Now he is a fellow Brother in Christ.

Calvins faithfulness lead him to salvation. A fellow Christian watching pulled up to us in  his car. As a street evangelist, he thank us for leading a man to Christ. Joyfully took Calvin home, promised to take him to church weekly, willing to water the seeds God planted inside his Heart. Jesus revealed that he is now part of the Kingdom, that one day we will meet in eternity.

A strangers faith, has defined Gods will for being in Ghana, here and now. All the fundraising, Typhoid, living without wifi, giving up comfort, was all worth it. Was this the only God event on the race??? Certainly not! However, this was a True Showing of Gods Divine Purpose for Saying “Yes” to the Race.
