Here are several of the testimonies I collected during my
adventures in the countryside of Cambodia. They are written testimonies that
have been filter through a translator. Please, do your best to grasp the bigger
picture of the lives of each of these men. I hope you enjoy. All of these men
are humble servants of Christ. They overcome persecution from the 98% of
Cambodian’s who practice Buddhism. Satan isn’t happy how God has drastically
changed these men for His glory. Praise the Lord, because He is still ALIVE and
He is still transforming the lives of men all over the globe.
pastor in the area who had led his brother to the Lord. He knew God was good,
but didn’t accept Christ at the beginning. The pastor from Samrong Yong poured
into him and soon accepted Jesus. He and wife were living with his wife’s
parents at that time. Her parents hated him for believing in God and giving up
Buddhism. Her parents kicked them out because of his faith. He wouldn’t stop
serving the Lord for any reason. He and his wife moved in with his Christian
brother. He had no job and no income. But he continued to sacrifice his time
and effort to tell others about Christ. He was given a piece of land that he
currently lives on. He starting selling some goods for profit, but spent the
majority of his time with the church. He was involved in planting many churches
in Takeo province and even some in nearby provinces. In 2007, his brother
resigned as pastor to work for a NGO. Pros had served under his brother for
years. Because of his service and dedication, he was given the pastorate.
goal is to reach the entire province of Takeo for Christ. He wants to disciple
the youth to send them throughout the province to plant churches. He wants to
continue to grow the church to be able to influence education, economics,
social relations, and politics in his community. He wants to start
leadership/discipleship centers to equip people to plant more churches all over
Cambodia.
Pastor Sam Tune never heard of Jesus before a voice inside
him told him that he need to come to Jesus. The voice told him that an
evangelist would come visit his home that day to share the gospel with him.
Tune did not know what to think, but said to himself that if someone came this
very day then he would believe and follow the good news. It all came true, and
he accepted Jesus Christ. Tune did not know much, but he did believe strongly
in his calling to be a pastor.
One day
his son fell into a deep well, but the little boy did not get injured. This
increased his faith and gratefulness in the provision and protection of God. “God
is in control, always.” God continues to strengthen his faith. God supplies
everything everyday. Tune is far more concerned with following God’s calling
then any money or benefit’s the world may offer. He believes the Lord wants to
be incredibly personal and intimate with each person.
Pastor
Sam Tune is married with two sons and one daughter.
Church testimony from Pastor Kim Cheoun
The two
year old daughter of a lady in the church recently was playing with glue she
had found, and accidentally got glue in her eyes. Her eyes literally were glued
shut. They took the young girl to the doctor to have it checked out. The doctor
had to cut some eye skin to open her eyes, but still the girl was blind. The
pastor gathered the elders in the church to pray over her. After about 30
minutes of prayer, the girl’s eyes were opened and she could see. The Lord
miraculously healed the young girl’s blindness. She is perfectly fine today.
