So as I’ve been in the Phillipines, I’ve realized one kind of small, somewhat important thing…an update of what I’ve been doing!! So this is the scoop of what’s been happening the past couple of weeks.

Since arriving in Manila, we had a couple days to debrief on what exactly we’re doing and we were told that we would be arriving at an orphanage in Malaybalay. Since then, it has been such a blessing to work with these people and children. The staff members are so patient, kind and welcoming. The kids are full spirited and have huge hearts and beautiful smile.

I put it upon myself (with God’s help and strength) to help organize and head up the outside projects that were being done outside on the orphanage property. We have been building three sets of stairs (mainly out of bamboo strips, rocks, and cement slabs), constructing a bathroom, pulling weeds, building a trench around the dining hall, and the biggest project helping build a soccer field. That alone we have spent pulling weeds out of, picking rocks, and now we are cutting sod and planting it.

We have also been putting on a camp every saturday for about 200-300 kids, and we’ve been going back and forth to a prison nearby, ministering to the minors and inmates. Also, we have yet to have our ministries on sunday night to the Youth Leaders club and the gangster ministry as well.

All in all, it’s been a very intense, exciting, and wonderful time here in Malaybalay, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! All that I would ask from whoever reads this, is that you could please pray for the kids. A lot of them have been getting sick with fevers and such. Also for the world racers because some of them have been sick as well. God bless and Godspeed to those at home!!
