As the days passed, the man started to discover a new
persona about the boy. The boy began to ask the man for money. He would also
cry much more often to achieve what he wanted. Sometimes he would hit and kick
at the man, out of what seemed to be distaste for him. The man would try to
correct  the boy, but to no avail. It
seemed that the boy had his own plans. The man grew very sick of it quickly.

“What a greedy and selfish boy.

He thought.

Now the man not realizing it, was watching one of the
greatest struggles in his own life, play out before his eyes. This greed and
selfishness was something that had imprisoned the man for years. He was alone
in his room, looking forward to nothing in particular. Like a prisoner willingly
placed in solitary confinement, the man had placed himself within the four blue
walls of his room. He was tied down by his fortune, a fortune made of the
latest and greatest computers. Piles of DVDs and Music CDs littered his floor.
He was comfortable here. Enough to eat and drink, he had no reason to leave.

The man did not know for sure what the boy wanted this day,
so the man went to the nearby store. There he bought the boy and his sister
some bubblegum and a lollipop. The boy unwrapped the gum like a child unwraps
the paper on a Christmas or Birthday present, though it is very likely the boy
knew nothing of such things. Presents wrapped in glossy paper, filled with
something that would most children’s mouths water. He was not greedy or
selfish. He was looking for help from a friend.

He could see this by the way the boy was dressed. He was
wearing a tan shirt filled with holes, looking like moths had attacked it. It
was stained from top to bottom and didn’t smell too appealing. He also wore a
pair of dusty green pants this day, though he was more likely to be seen
without pants. He was a child who had never been touched by designer trends,
celebrity gossip, or even major forms of technology that the man experienced in
his childhood. He was a prince in his own right. Even on days where he lacked
his pants.

Over the coming weeks the meetings continue, but the
ministry came to a close. The man departs on a bus in the early morning. He
left the land to enter into a much different one. It is a land where God’s
pallet shines with many different vibrant colours. A land filled with new
languages and new lessons. A land filled with many new princes to meet. But the
man believes that no prince can replace the part of his heart that the
pant-less prince possesses.

As the man travels distant lands, he does not fear of
forgetting. For the man’s heart has increased, and made much more room, for the
many more princes and paupers to come.

The End.
