Heartbreak and Healing: Part 1…
The Lord has also been
working in my life through an injury I had suffered a couple of months
back before the race began. I actually have no idea how this injury
started originally, though I knew it was developing.

It all started with a
small pain in my shoulder. Whenever I would move my shoulder in a
vertical motion my shoulder would have a small pain rush through it.
Almost as if I was getting a needle. As time passed, the pain got worse
and the mobility I once had, was slowing going. As we were leaving
Austrailia I was to the point of wanting to get to an emergency room,
or at the very least a doctor’s office. I had lost majority of arm
mobility and the pain was that of being restrained with my arm tight
behind my back.
As a team we prayed for
healing, but nothing seemed to change. I went to a doctor’s office in
Byron Bay, where the doctor informed me that I had inflamation of the
tendon in my shoulder that enables vertical movement. I was prescribed
anti-inflamatory medication and given excercises to do multiple times a
day. I was also instructed not to carry anything for a month. I was
pleased to know of the problem, but was frustrated to hear that I would
need to depend on others for anything physically related.
About 2 days after the
diagnoses I felt that God was calling me to fast for quick recovery. So
I fasted for three days expecting that I was going to be completely
healed on day four. This was not the case. I was quickly angry at God,
because I felt like he promised me healing. I wanted an immediate
recovery not just a quick one.
fellow teammates asked if I wanted to go to a healing room, that the
New Earth Tribe Church (a very Pentecostal church) in Byron puts on
weekly. I reluctantly agreed, as I had no feeling of urgency to get
healed by their “Hocus-Pocus” methods. After about 10 minutes with two
individuals from the church praying healing over me, I had gained full
motion in my shoulder and arm with no pain! It was truly a miracle.

originally said to me. Instead of the doctor’s estimated 1 month
recovery time. God did it in 10 days. God is good!
