Most everyone has heard at least one point in life, that “God has a plan for each and every one of us.” Either from a friend, co-worker, family member, stranger on the street or even the local church on any given Sunday. But if God does have a plan for our lives, what is it? and what is the cost to me?
Serious time around a bon fire.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

This sounds great, doesn’t it? But when we realize what must happen in order to strive towards the plan the Lord has placed on us, it may seem too hard, too expensive, too uncomfortable, too uncool, or just plain overwhelming. I have felt this way. God has made us unique, we are all going to achieve different results in our lives, therefore making it God’s plan for YOU, not anyone else.

God has lead me to missions on a global scale. I left home and travelled over 13,800 km to follow the plan that The Lord set before me. I also have many more kilometers to go. I do not know where I will end up in the months after I am done with this 11 month mission trip, but I am confident that The Lord will continue to guide my steps as I follow His lead. Though I am traveling alongside 6 others, we all have different views on the experiences that we have encountered on our journey together. God has been teaching me that he is worthy of more than all the praise we can give Him.

God’s plan for YOUR life may be serving the homeless or less fortunate at a local soup kitchen, or supporting a sponsor child on the other side of the world. God will not put you through anything that ends in a one way street to sin. But, God will put you into situations that are more than you can handle on your own, to build up stronger faith and dependency in Him. Look at the Apostle Paul (2 Corinthians) and Jeremiah (Jeremiah).

Are you up for pursuing God’s plan for your life amongst all joy and hardships?
