G’day mates! I was welcomed into New
Zealand at 5:00 am on January 5th (local time) today. After a twelve
hour flight it is chilling to see how many expectations I really
have/had for this trip. Already I can see CHANGE occurring.

Before I continue I would like to thank EVERYONE who has supported me in prayers and finances thus far. I also would like to send another thank you to ALL who have said they will continue to support in this ministry….

THANK YOU!

I am still in need of approximately $1000US to be fully financially supported. I have set up a goal to have $200US a month in support come in, for the first five months on the field. If you  can support please click on the “Support” link on the left column of the screen.

Also I have 2 other teammates who are in need of financial support as well.

Jedediah – in need of ~$4000US – give at jedediahsmith.theworldrace.org
Courtney – in need of ~$4000US – give at courtneyfolwick.theworldrace.org

Please keep us in your prayers.

As was said before I have seen some real changes from what I was/am expecting from The World Race. Some super… some silly.

The definition of ‘sleep’ has CHANGED since I left home.
One might need to sleep standing up in an aircraft due to the person infront of them reclining their seat. 747s still don’t like people with long bodies.

‘My team’ has also CHANGED.
Amanda Glenn is the newest member of our team. Due to some people leaving the race for personal/God lead reasons, Amanda’s previous team has been split up amongst some of the other teams. It is a blessing to have Amanda on the team. Please feel free to stay updated with her blog at: amandaglenn.theworldrace.org

‘The climate’ has CHANGED (for the better).
Who new I enjoyed warmer weather? It is hard to say I miss the snow back home. New Zealand is beautiful. If I was to compare it to Canada it would have:
The Mountains of British Columbia… but greener.
The Fine Fields of the Prairies.
The Rolling Hills of… Well it is hard to compare on all aspects.

My ‘fellowship’ is CHANGING too.
I have been able to reconnect with comrades from October, and this sense of community is just awesome. It is a connection that lacked from many friendships back home. Jedediah is my brother for the next 11 months, and I have 5 new sisters. The reality of this has finally hit.

FUN FACT: New Zealander’s use the word “Eh.” Though usually not at the end of a question.

I look forward to sharing this year with you all. Please keep both January 2010 Squads in your prayers. God is good and I know he is going to show it this year.

Many Blessings.
