The Lord has been showing me His faithfulness in such cool ways and I wanted to share a little story about it!
The other night, I was catching up with a friend who is about to move into college and she was sharing with me about how the Lord has been providing peace in her heart for this new season and it was so cool and encouraging to hear about! We then just started talking about how the future can be scary and I was sharing a bit about how it’s hard for me to not worry so much about what I will be doing after the Race because I still have no idea what that is, but He is faithful and He already has everything planned out so it is so awesome that I can rest in that!
Later that night as I was going to bed, I was letting worry get the best of me and I began praying about all of it and in the middle of my prayer, I get a text from my friend I had been talking to and she sent me a passage from Matthew and told me to read it! Matthew 6:25-34.
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
I was just blown away by God and how He used my friend to deliver this amazing reminder! I am also blown away by how much He has already been teaching me during this season! If I worry too much about what will come after the Race, I will not be fully present in the moments I am on it and I may miss out on something beautiful the Lord is going to teach me! We are so silly to worry about what the future will bring when we have such an amazing God who is in charge of it all!
I am so excited for these next three months and I am ready to just surrender my focus completely to Him on this trip and remember that He has a wonderful plan for my life afterward so therefore, I do not need to worry about tomorrow! Feeling very encouraged and grateful for the people the Lord has placed in my life and all of the sweet conversations that come with their friendships!
I hope this can encourage someone else, too! As summer is coming to an end, a lot of people are stepping into new and exciting adventures! May we all remember that HE IS SO GOOD! NOW AND FOREVER!
