Well my last blog told you what I’ve been doing emotionally/spiritually during my time in the Dominican Republic. Now let’s talk about this month’s ministry time!
First off; I LOVE THE DR! Ministry has been varied. We’ve been going to church service three times a week. The service is in Spanish, so it’s an interesting way to get a vibe on what’s happening in a room spiritually, when you can’t tell what they are saying. And the MUSIC! Best worship music on the Race! This week at the Wed night service, a man gave his heart to God. It was an indescribably beautiful moment to participate in and witness. My team and I had the honor of praying over him after he gave his heart to Christ. What a precious night.
We have spent a lot of time with children this month. There is a small school house next to the church that we go to in the afternoons to help with schoolwork and English. In the mornings, we have been helping the Pastor Juan, our ministry host, to clean out and paint a storage room and turn it into his new office. When that was finished, we started painting the outside of the church and cleaning out the schoolhouse. It was GREAT to have some real projects to get our hands dirty with this month!
One Sunday, our team was split into three pairs of two and sent to church members’ homes for lunch. The two team members who understand the LEAST amount of Spanish, myself and Kenzie, were sent to the home of a family that understands ZERO English. We then learned that we would be there for lunch and the following four hours. Now THAT was an experience haha! They were lovely, wonderful, and welcoming people. We truly enjoyed ourselves despite the hilarious awkwardness of no common language.
Pastor Juan is my favorite ministry host on the Race. His smile never dims, and the love of God flows through him so purely and constantly. It has been a true honor and a great joy to work with him this month.
And now for PICTURES!

This kid cracks us up every day! He’s great!
Sadly, that’s all I can get to upload at this time. I’ll try to post some to FB too.
I’m still raising the last $1100 (give or take) of my mission fees. Please say a quick prayer for me that I won’t finish the Race with debt, and donate if you can.
Thanks to all my supporters! I love you!
