In the beginning God CREATED the heavens and the earth. —Genesis 1:1—

Growing up, I always had an itch to create; art class was my favorite! I loved to coordinate colors and shapes and watch my ideas come to life. Still to this day, I have a passion for painting. The process of creating is so energizing: Starting with a BLANK PAGE, finding inspiration, making an outline, filling in the main components, and lastly adding the final details that brings the creation to completion.

It is part of God’s character to create; He created the heavens and earth, light and darkness, water and sky, oceans and land, every kind of plant, the sun and moon, the living creatures in the water and the birds that take flight in the sky, the animals that roam the land, and mankind that was made in HIS image. “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.” Genesis 2:1 God took a blank slate and, day by day, He created a masterpiece of beauty!

We are all made in God’s image, which means we have God’s creative character within us. Whenever I begin a new project, I can feel the Holy Spirit bring that creativity to the surface. Starting with a blank canvas and giving life to an piece of art.

God blesses each of us with a creative gift. This may be painting, music, photography; but, it may be in other ways as well. Maybe you are able to think of new ideas for marketing a product for your company, or a new way to teach a subject that works best for your students’ learning. It could be a new way to send the Gospel to unreached nations.

Whatever gift you gave been given by God, it is meant to be USED! In my experience, children are the most enthusiastic and original in creating a new project. They are not weighed down by years of rejection and discouragement. They are eager to share their ideas with everyone. God wants us to have childlike faith; and with that is childlike CREATIVITY, to have the courage and eagerness to be creative and share our innovations in a way to spread the LOVE of God.

I am beginning to find my outlet for creativity in painting. I love to take inspiration from God’s word and God’s vast creation, to create small reminders of God’s GREAT LOVE. It is not always easy to share; there will always be critics. But, God calls us to not be afraid and the be courageous. He promises us that HIS PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR!

Lean on the Lord to find courage to be CREATIVE. Find motivation to be innovative in God’s love. Be inspired by God’s glorious creation (the entire Universe!), and look to God’s actions as an example of creativity. He shows us over and over again in scripture how He creates beauty out of chaos: the stories of Esther, Joseph, and even JESUS. “ And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him.” Romans 8:28. We have continually failed God, but He has found NEW and CREATIVE ways to show His love and redemption to us.

In being courageous, here are several of my artworks that I have created and given away to others as reminders of God’s PERFECT LOVE for us. I pray each and every one of you ask God to reveal your creative nature, and that He gives you courage to share your GOD GIVEN GIFT with the world, for HIS GLORY. AMEN!

This last painting is the one I am auctioning off to help with fundraising for the month of OCTOBER, donate online to bid!! My goal is $1,000 this month! I pray that you come alongside me in this journey to help raise support to spread Jesus to 11 different nations. <3
