Another route change, really?
It’s been months since I’ve last blogged. Since then, I have switched to another route. Yes, again! This route will launch January 2018. Hopefully it’s true what they say, “third time’s a charm.”
I have had so many mixed emotions and doubts and worries. Maybe fundraising just isn’t my thing. Maybe I need to wait 2 years. Maybe I should consider not going. However, with prayer and encouragement from my new friends, India and Ramesha, I have decided to put my doubts aside. I choose to trust that if God called me to go, then He will provide.
Side Note: I met India and Ramesha through the WR. Click their names to view their blogs. I have met so many wonderful people through the world race. It’s crazy how quickly strangers can become friends from ONE commonality. It’s even crazier for someone (me) who isn’t the most social person in the world.
Where Are you going now?
As of now, in January of 2018, I will be headed to the countries listed below. In Wait, how does this all work?! and The World Race? Do you even like to run?, I shared more about what I will be doing while serving on the race. Be sure to check those out by clicking the titles if you missed them or for a quick refresher.
Haiti
Dominican Republic
Jamaica
India
Nepal
Malaysia
Thailand
Cambodia
Ethiopia
Rwanda
Uganda
Another SN: The countries on this route include the countries from my prior 2 routes that I REALLY wanted to go to … Ethiopia, DR, Jamaica, Thailand. Perfect, right?!
Fundraising?
This is where I am stuck, and the cause of the route changes. I haven’t been very successful at this. So far, I have tried selling t-shirts, the adopt a box fundraiser, and selling bracelets via threads of hope. I will most likely give selling t-shirts/tanks another try. Also, I plan on hosting a dinner or an auction, and possibly doing a raffle. In addition, I’ve created an Amazon Wish list. Click here to view it, and feel free to donate any of the items listed. Also, your fundraising ideas are VERY welcome. Comment them below or feel free to share them via email at [email protected].
SN … again: Thank you so much everyone who has donated and purchased a t-shirt and prayed and encouraged and read my blogs. Thank you a million more times!!!! Your support is much appreciated!
Please continue to pray for me. Also, please pray for my new squad and old squad-mates. As I start to organize fundraisers, I will be sure to blog the details! Be sure to subscribe above for updates! Thanks for reading! For more information about the world race, click here.
