One week ago, I stepped off a plane into the African air. And in that instant, I felt my heart come soaring from miles away and leap back into my chest.

Because, two years ago I left my heart here, in Africa. I had followed a crazy instruction from God to go to Africa and love on the people there. So I went to Kenya, and in my one week there, my life was permanently changed. And that place stole my heart.

So when I say I got my heart back, I mean to say that I feel a joy, peace, and contentment that I haven't know for a couple years. I go to sleep at night knowing that all that I have done in a day, is exactly what I was meant to do.

We sing. We dance. Life is worship.

Because we have the most amazing contact ever. I'm serious.

John Walusimbi is a pastor at Liberty Canaan Community Church in Masaka, Uganda. But he is also a teacher, a father, a husband, a servant, a friend. This guy gets it. He is teaching children, providing an education that leads them to know how to be contributing members of society. At the school, they learn about Jesus, and who they are as sons and daughters, but also how to farm, how to take care of animals, how to take care of their own health.

It is so effective, that they are doing those things in their own homes.

So we help Pastor in the community. Some days we are talking to people door to door, sharing about the church and the school, and about the wonderful news that Jesus calls us sons and daughters,

Some days we minister in prisons.

And every day we live life with this wonderful family. At each meal we sing a worship song after we pray. At tea time, we sing worship songs, sometimes in Luganda (the main language of Uganda), sometimes in English, sometimes in Swahili.

And every day, I feel my heart increasing for this land. Maybe it's because the people actually have conversations with us about Jesus. They ask questions. They tell us why they aren't ready to accept Him
as their savior, which is great! Because at least they are talking with us, instead of stubbornly listening.

Days like today, I remember why sacrificing a year of work, of music, of all my personal interests was worth it. Because God's kingdom is coming here.

Is this really my life? It's so wonderful!
