I hope this letter finds you well with your family, jobs, health and this upcoming holiday season. I want to share with you some crazy, interesting things that are happening. Last fall, I read this book titled "Radical" by David Platt that shook and is still shaking my mentality and lifestyle regarding the American Dream, Christianity and serving those less fortunate throughout the world. This author really stepped on my toes and slammed some fingers in the door. As a result, I stumbled upon the World Race.

The World Race is an extensive mission trip serving in 11 countries in 11 months. Through ministry, adventure and community, World Racers serve in homeless shelters, orphanages and soup kitchens and other places designated as in-need by the World Race Ministry Staff. They carry out needs specific to the communities they visit, from teaching English, cooking meals, building houses and most importantly, showing love to and sharing the Gospel with others. They also travel, live and work as a team of seven, with two former Racers as leaders, all working together to build fellowship and grow as a team in Christ.

I am committed to going on this extensive journey to serve those who are less fortunate and creating positive, sustaining change in developing communities. I definitely know this is something God has called me to. Though I am excited for this journey, I realize it will be extremely challenging:  I will be getting out of my comfort zone, leaving behind my family, friends, and ultimately the American culture. In this time, I will truly appreciate your prayers.

I am writing you to ask if you will partneri with me prayerfully. I myself will be doing as much as I can, contacting churches and doing fundraisers. However, this journey will not be possible without your prayers and support.

Please also prayerfully consider partnering financially with me. The total cost of my World Race service will be $15,500 which covers training, food, lodging, and travel. My race start date is July 2013, and I cannot leave with my squad unless I reach 50% of funds in June 2013 and 100% in December 2013. I understand the economy is in recovery, and you may have strict financial obligations. Please donate whatever God puts on your heart, and remember that every little bit counts.  You can give one-time gift or with a monthly donation in which you choose the amount and the start/end. If 55 people pledged to give $47 for the next six months, I will have 100% of the funds necessary for my trip.

If you can’t or choose not to financially support, I understand and ask that you please pray for me. This process is burdensome at times, but it’s an opportunity to see God show Himself. Any amount that God puts on your heart will be deeply appreciated

I look forward to contacting you soon to share more specifics about this journey. Please feel free to contact me with any joys, concerns or question via phone or email [email protected]. Domestic missions is just as important as overseas. Please feel free to contact me about your faith journey, all the challenges and joys. I will love to talk to hear about it! I am expectant and excited to see God shake things up, and will love for you to be very much involved. I would be honored to have your support in all the ways you can provide. May God bless you with circumstances you are going through this month especially with the holidays around the corner, and may you find hope in His grace. I thank you for your prayers and financial support.

Humbly,
Chinny Ekwulugo
