Anything you could EVER want to know about The World Race…okay, maybe a slight exaggeration, but you get the gist!

1. Soooooo what are you doing?
– The World Race!

2. Oh gosh are you worried about all of those cameras following you all the time?
– Noooo, that's the Amazing Race…slightly different.

3. Oh yeah, isn't that the across the world bicycle race??
– Noooo, I actually have no idea what that is…

4. So what is it then?
– The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world.

5. Holy crap that's a long time- where are you going? and who are you going with?
– I will be going to Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.
– I am going with the organization Adventures in Missions! (you can check them out at www.adventures.org)

6. Whoa, when are you leaving? and when are you getting back?
– I leave the beginning of July and I will get back May 2014.

7. Sheesh, what are you going to be doing, specifically?
– The beauty of the Race is that you have no idea. I can tell you that I will be partnering with different churches and ministries with the intent to "make disciples of ALL nations" as Jesus commanded us in Matthew 28:18-20.

8. How the heck are you going to pack for 11 months?
– Great question…I am still working on this one. We get to carry 1 hiking pack and 1 day pack, so we'll see how that all works out.

9. Aren't you scared? I mean those countries are really unstable…
– If I am being honest, sometimes the Enemy tries to through some fears my way, but then the Lord just crushes them! He reminds me that He has called me on this journey for a reason and to be fearful would be to doubt my belief in His goodness, which would just be silly! If we truly believe His Word than we can be assured that He will keep us safe and He is in control of ALL situations! Praise Him for that!

10. That's cool. What about your mom…is she freaking out?
– Thankfully I was blessed with the most loving and supportive mom in the whole world. She is fearful, but she is still letting me go, and I love her for that. She's also one of my biggest supporters (thanks Mom!)

11. Are you going to have your phone while you're gone?
– I don't think I'll be bringing my phone, but I'll have Skype! Feel free to add me cheyenne.thornton

12. Sweet, i'll add ya. Wait so are you going by yourself?
– Nooo, I would probably be a little more freaked out then haha I am going with a squad of about 75 other people and then we break off into teams of 6-8 throughout the country. Talk about some intense community, right?

13. What country are you looking forward to the most?
– Dah, that's a toughie! I would have to say anywhere in Central America, which still cracks me up (read my previous blog to know what I am talking about). I know that God is going to do huge, crazy, big things in all of the countries, so I am really pumped for all of them!

14. Is there anything you are not looking forward to?
– Two words: squatty potty. google it. just google it.

15. What are you going to do when you get back?
– I can honestly say I have absolutely no idea, and as of right now I am perfectly content in that. There is no way you can do something like the Race and not have it change you. I can try all I want to make plans now, but there is no telling if that's the same thing I'll want when I get back. Sooo, to answer your question, I'll get back to you about that.

16. Wait I just realized something- you said 11 months- that's gotta be a TON of money, right?
– Well, I mean, in the grand scheme of things its not the MOST money ever haha it costs $15,500 to go

17. *Jaw Drops*
– I know, I know it seems crazy right, but I am trusting in Luke 18:27 when the Word says "what's impossible with man is possible with God." On top of that- the Lord has already provided $10,000!

18. $10,000?! Wow, you are so close! What happens if you don't raise it all though?
– I know! All I need now is $5,500 to be fully funded…so if you want to help me that…you know, feel free ๐Ÿ™‚
– Not raising it all is not an option for me. I know that the Lord wouldn't bring me this far just to let me fail in finding funding financially, so I am not worried about that one little bit ๐Ÿ™‚

19. What all does that money cover/not cover?
– The money we have to raise covers all of our team costs once the trip beings. This includes food, lodging, air, land, & sea travel. It also covers administrative, setup, coaching, debrief, and training costs prior to and at the start of the Race.
– It doesn't cover travel to the start point, immunizations, any items needed for the race, return travel home from the Race, medical insurance, and any personal spending money.

20. How can I help?
– Oh well, since you asked! You can help support me by either funding me financially (by clicking the 'Support Me' link to the left of my blog, or mailing a check to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30535-4770 and in the memo put 'Cheyenne Thornton'), helping me with some of the items on my Wish List, or through your prayers.

21. What is this 'Wish List' you speak of?
– It's a list of items (necessary and not as necessary) that I will be bringing on the Race with me. If you are interested in seeing this please click the link to the left that says 'Holla' and I will be happy to email this to you!

22. Alright, you’ve convinced me- I want to support you.

I hope this answers a lot of the questions you have about what I’ll be doing for the next year and if you have any more please feel free to ask ๐Ÿ™‚
